Avigilon Alta (formerly Openpath) is a cloud-based access control platform from Motorola Solutions that lets organizations manage doors, users, and credentials across multiple sites from a web or mobile interface, without on-site servers. Its serverless architecture, mobile credentials, and open API suit organizations that want to manage access control remotely and scale from a single site to a multi-site enterprise.
RTNConnect integrates Real Time Networks' AssetTracer and KeyTracer systems with Avigilon Alta through a two-way sync. Keys, items, and key/item groups from AssetTracer and KeyTracer are synced to Avigilon Alta as zones. Alta administrators then assign users to those zones, and the related user information, credentials, and zone assignments are synchronized back to Real Time Networks software.
Changes made in Avigilon Alta are communicated to the connected Real Time Networks systems on the next sync. New staff receive the correct access rights to the right key or item with no added administration. When a user is terminated and their credentials are revoked in Avigilon Alta, the change is reflected in AssetTracer and KeyTracer, closing potential access loopholes.
User, credential, and zone assignment data from Avigilon Alta, combined with the audit trail in AssetTracer and KeyTracer, gives administrators a clear record of who accessed which asset and when. That audit trail supports usage analysis, misuse investigations, and accountability across the organization.
Custom dynamic scripts give administrators control over how data is synced with Avigilon Alta. They can select specific user fields and control how those fields are mapped into Real Time Networks systems.
RTNConnect runs as a background service and connects to Avigilon Alta through its cloud API. Data syncs can be triggered on demand or at set intervals, so the integration fits your existing operational processes.
Events in AssetTracer and KeyTracer, including tamper alerts, overdue assets, and other events defined during setup, can trigger native email alerts. Because user information is synchronized from Avigilon Alta, alerts reflect current user records, so administrators can follow up with the right person.
Users can be added or removed collectively by department or job role. Access assignments are made in bulk rather than configured user by user and system by system, which supports multi-site and enterprise deployments.
